Tikal, Guatelmala (2015)

Temples showing in the jungle

Do you recognize this scene? This is one of the filming scenes for the original Star Wars movie (Episode IV, A New Hope). It was supposed to be the rebel base on planet Yavin 4. Here’s the scene with the Millennium Falcon

Had nowhere to put Mini Bobo so I held him
This reminded me of Angkor Wat

Some of the bugs I saw. On the middle right, my guide showing me the red part under its wings. The far right – hard to see but the first tarantula I’ve ever seen in the wild.

Oh, and the howling monkeys was a surreal experience. They howling was non-stop while walking through the jungle, here’s a short video clip to capture the sounds.

I really enjoyed exploring the Mayan temples and ruins. Even up to this day (Feb 2019), it’s still the only time I’ve visited Mayan grounds. I still haven’t made a trip to the Yucatan.
