This is my first attempt at shooting/making a video! Literally hours before my trip to Greece, I suddenly felt the urge try making a travel video. I didn’t want to have a video full of me talking though, so instead of a vlog I aimed more for a film-style shoot. I thoroughly enjoyed the process from start to finish, even though I literally had no idea what I was doing – any single step of the way. And speaking of having no idea what I’m doing – thank you so much to my wife and my friends Hannah & Tim for being patient with me while I fiddled around with my camera!
It was an incredible learning experience. But it was more so after I came back home and started editing. I realized so many things I could have done better. Well, have to start from somewhere….
I still don’t really know much about video codecs, what shutter speeds to use, etc. I wish I looked all this up before the trip! The first hour of opening Premier Pro was super intimidating as well. But I found it very intuitive after I settled in – MUCH easier to learn than Photoshop. The editing process itself was much more enjoyable as well vs stills.
I never expected to enjoy shooting and creating a video this much. I really hope to take more in the future. Please feel free to send me any tips, suggestions, and feedback! Please stay tuned here!
